The Federal capital city of Nigeria Abuja is located at the centre the geographical map of the nation. The city is endowed with human and material resources, blessed with hills and valleys. Towering in its pride with well designed streets, manicured lawns and lush vegetation, the city centre competes favourably with any modern city in the world.
Abundant in the city are flyovers and bridges, green cabs and Keke NAPEPs and people; rich hustlers, the middle class as well as the poor. In Abuja, the rich and the middle class rule, they are the princes and princesses of Abuja royal kingdom. They ride exotic cars, own the companies where the average folks work. Some of these rich people who happen to be part of Abuja's business men and politicians are spotted most often in places like Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse 2, Gwarinmpa and sparsely resided in numerous Estates in the satellite towns.

Abuja is a happening city by all standards, even though not as bustling as Lagos. The city huddles its residents in a make-belief Disney where everyone live like all is well. 'Imakwa ndi anyi bu?' 'Do you know who we are? But all is well with Abuja or so it was presumed to be until the Boko Haram menace broke her virginity.
Onslaught of Boko Haram is an experience that cannot be forgotten in a hurry. Ever since, Abuja residents have rued the assault on the once calm and resplendent centre of unity. However, that is becoming a relic of the past. The city at the moment enjoys maximum security and peaceful coexistence among its inhabitants.

While Lagos boasts of residents that wear hustling like a cloak, Abuja residents pretend to be bourgeoisies. The truth is that Abuja is made of up and down, rich and poor, good and bad, just like any other modern city in the world.
With the sparkling lights at Abuja's night, the city is shining amour that wields a certain air of peaceful feeling that makes new comers gasp breathlessly. This is part of the qualities that keep Abuja's night life alive. More so, the presence of nationalists and expatriates, hotels and relaxation spots make hospitality a lucrative business to run.
During the El Rufai's administration, the city underwent a certain kind of metamorphosis from which it is yet to recover from. The shrubs that adorn the major roads were a beauty to behold. These flowers, unlike the human beings in Abuja, are continuously being trimmed so they don't over grow their boundaries. But many Abuja cab drivers, hawkers, Keke NAPEP operators need to be  pruned  in order to maintain the sanity of the city. This discipline becomes important in the growing population that is Nigeria's centre of unity.
A city where contracts exchange greetings with juicy envelops, where civil servants are in need of  promotion the same way they need air and the average workers do their best to make out a living through thick and thin.  It's much more exciting if you are part of the favoured cabal of contractors who know how to press the right buttons to get what they must have.
Abuja is also the city of Power, where Nigeria's President operates from, no wonder the order that obtains in the heart of the city centre. Everything is affordable here, because it is Abuja, except you are talking about housing. Real Estate is Abuja's greatest gold, and because of this, houses that have been finished yet uninhabited because of burgeoning high cost, abound here and there.
As Abuja's light continue to shine, it keeps welcoming the retinue of new comers, tourists, people from all over the world to one of Africa's best and most beautiful city.
Whatever you think of this city, one thing is sure. Abuja is the melting pot of every culture, tongue and tribe in Nigeria-if not the world. So, if you've never been to... then you can't really say you've been or lived in Nigeria, yet. Welcome to the city of light, welcome to the centre of unity, welcome to Abuja- a city we all love, to hate.
