Kingdom Heritage Model School And Living Faith Church Kubwa Celebrate Children's Day

CHILDREN’S DAY is one dedicated to celebrate “childhood”, on this day tribute is paid to all children in the world, it’s a day celebrated in most part of the globe,  children are loved by one and all and they win over our hearts with their angelic eyes and innocent smiles.
This special day was first celebrated worldwide in October 1955, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva.

First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to declare a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world’s children. It was also chosen as the day to celebrate childhood. Generally, children get all excited and eagerly await the day.
Here in Nigeria, schools go to their local stadiums where each school has a special march pass. The school with the best performance wins the prize for that year. May 27 is traditionally the Children’s Holiday in Nigeria. First established by the United Nations in 1964, the day remains important in the lives of all Nigerian kids.
On this day every year, children take a day off studies while engaging in several social activities, excused from school, most kids converge at stadiums and civic centers to commemorate the event.

It has become customary for government officials and media organisations to use this day to honour children with exceptional abilities, in addition, media organization such as, radio and TV stations feature child broadcasters and anchors.

In the spirit of this occasion, children Department of Living Faith Church (A.K.A Winner’s Chapel) Kubwa in conjunction with Kingdom Heritage Model School Kubwa celebrated their Children’s Day with the theme “MY CHILD AND I”. During the event, activities like Bible recitation, News cast, Drama etc were featured.   As part of the activities of the day, children of the church also visited Motherless Babies Homes donating Food Items, Toys, Clothing and Shoes etc.

In conclusion, the children of the church sure had a swell day celebrating; nevertheless lessons that usually come with celebrations like this stay long with parents. Some of these lessons give room for parents and guardians to evaluate their relationship with these children.
Let’s use this year’s event to further improve on our relationship with our children while also improving on their well being. We look forward to another successful event come 2017.
