COMRADE ISAAC DAVID BALAMI
Isaac
David Balami was born and raised in the North-Eastern region of Nigeria; he is
an indigene of Borno State, and a bona fide citizen of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria.
FAMILY
LIFE
He's
been happily married to Mrs. Grace Balami since 2008, and they are blessed with
a child.
QUALIFICATION
In
2008, Isaac David Balami obtained the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO) Higher National Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from the
Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria.
In
2011, he obtained the HAWKER 4000 course certification in Airframe and Power
Plant and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from the Flight Safety
International, Kansas, USA.
In
2013, he obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Aviation Management from the
Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria.
He
holds the Aircraft Engineering License TB 9 Engine and Airframe, Pressurized
Airframe, Gas Turbine Jet Engine Hawker 4000 New Generation Jet.
CAREER
As
an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer; his career has spanned over 11 years,
beginning with the position of Extol System Engineer with Computer Associates
Inc. in 2002, to the position he currently holds at Aero Contractors Company
Nig. Ltd, as Business Development Manager, overseeing third party maintenance
across all airlines in Africa.
PUBLIC
ROLE
Engr.
Isaac David Balami, also called Comrade Balami, is currently the National
President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, (NAAPE)
the trade union that caters for pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, and
flight engineers in Nigeria. A position he was re-elected into in July 2013,
after the expiration of his first term.
In
2013 also, Comrade Isaac David Balami was elected PRO/Spokesman of the Trade
Union Congress of Nigeria, to act in the capacity of the mouth piece of the
Senior Staffs of Nigerian workers.
PROFESSIONALISM
As
the National President of NAAPE, Comrade Balami has been instrumental in giving
the Union a professional image and the respect deserving of it in its service
delivery, thereby repositioning the Union as a major pillar under the
aircraft/airline operations wing of the aviation industry in Nigeria.
Also,
in his capacity as the National President of NAAPE, he has played key roles in
encouraging and seeing to it that indigenous professionals are given the
opportunity and responsibility of manning key positions in the industry, as
well as the professionalization of the industry.
SOCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY
For
the past five years the Isaac David Balami Foundation; an NGO geared toward
Empowering and Uniting People, has been directly involved in uplifting the
status of the less privileged in the society through skills' acquisition youth
empowerment programs. His Foundation has played key roles in fostering a good
living standard for many homeless and orphaned children in Nigeria,
irrespective of sex, tribe, religion or ethnicity. To this effect, the school
fees, and tuition of over 400 children have overtime become his personal
responsibility:

Isaac
David Balami also oversees the activities of My Nigeria Initiative-
www.my-nigeria.ng, specially created as an off shoot of the Isaac Balami
Foundation for the purpose of fostering peaceful co-existence amongst
Nigerians.

AWARDS
He
holds the following awards: Honorary Fellowship of the Institute, (FIIAN)
National Award for Industrial and Business Development, (NAIBD) Certificate of
Honor for Accountability and Transparency, (CHAT) This Day Newspaper Nigeria
Top 50 Professionals 2011.
International
African Role Model Award for Business Development. Young African Achievers
Award by Crystals Group in Dubai UAE, Young African Achiever by African Legacy
International Abuja, Youth Role Model of Year 2014 by Capital City Awards,
African Young Personality of the Year 2014 by African Achievers Award in Accra,
Ghana..
He
is also a Life-Time Patron of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Nigeria,
(IAN) and also a Patron of the Nigeria MAN-O-WAR.

Isaac
David Balami recently co-authored a book on nationalism titled: My Nigeria; a

Amongst
other attributes, Isaac David Balami is a purpose driven young man whose
unwavering dedication and commitment to justice, equal opportunity for all,
good governance, dignity of labor and, patriotism, is unmatched and
unquestionable.
As
a selfless and God-fearing man, his integrity and enthusiasm is also an
attitude that has won him many admirers.
He
believes where there is a will, there is always a way, and is often quick to
tell you nothing is impossible if you will only ask for God's help.
